LA Cake by Los Angeles Kush

Acclaimed author 50 Cent once said, “I love cake like a fat kid love cake.” Well almost, I replaced the word you with cake. Regardless the statement above describes me to the T.

These days I smoke more Cake and OG Kush than anything else. Granted Cannatique, Ball Family Farms and The Backpack Boys got me smoking Gelato. But my goto is cake.

So as I continue my quest to explore every cake out there, I have made my way to LA Cake.

LA Cake is a proprietary strain by LA Kush. LA Kush recently had a 4th of July Sale so I picked up some cake when I was there. Also worth noting they have 30% off all LA Kush Products for all First Time Customers from California.

LA Kush took a very interesting genetic path to get to cake. LA Cake is Blue Box crossed with Gorilla Glue #4. Blue Box (king of OGs) is King Skywalker crossed with SFV. Where the classic Gorillla Glue #4 is the orgy of Chem’s Sister, Sour Dubb and Chocolate Diesel.

Looking at that lineage you would expect a gassy earthy piney combo which there is some, but there is also a very dominant sweet vanilla cakey goodness.

The bud’s appearance is perfection. The hue of the bud is a light green while being barely visible as it is completely immersed in giant orange hairs, tiny white hairs and tons of perfectly formed trichome crystals.

The flower’s nose is everything you want in a cake strain, a very dominant sweet vanilla butter cream foundation complemented by very delicate gassy earthy notes. When breaking the buds open the gassy earthy notes become much more present.

The inhale is this marrying of sweet vanilla buttercream and earthy gasiness that I cannot get enough of. Sometimes you can identify more notes from the GG#4 while at other times you are at caketown and it doesnt make sense how you got there.

The exhale takes an earthy gassy turn leaving lingering gas for days.

One thing I have been noticing about the LA Kush line that I am enjoying is the amount of expansion in many of their strains. LA Cake was no different, I saw some nice expansion when smoking bong hits and when would I roll their flowers, GG.

The high is heavy but functional as it is so clean. One of my more sought after highs.

So was it worth the money and would I buy it again? Yes this is one of my favorite strains right now. I bought a bunch of it and wasn’t able to review it because I kept smoking it.

Where can it be found? I bought mine at the LA Kush on Valley Blvd (the other one are imposters) but all of LA Kush’s strains can be found at dispensaries all over California.
