The Genetics of this strain is Mochi and Pink Runtz. Breaking that down further, Mochi is Gelato 47, while in contrast, Pink Runtz is the cross of Skittlez and Gelato.
Appearance
The Black Matcha Mochi colas are a deep army green, and a deep dark purple with some orange hairs scatter about with a nice layer of trichomes. Notwithstanding, the deep color profile steals the show.
Aroma
At first whiff, you get a familiar floral tropical essence, but when you dig in, you find a very different, very unique aroma in line with the Korean treat it is named after. The nose is a mix of musk, green tea, nuttiness, and woodiness complemented by delicate floral and tropical notes.
The Inhale & The Exhale
It’s not often you see a nose translate so well into the flavor profile, but Teds Budz does this perfectly with this strain. The inhale is a smooth combination of green tea and nutty notes. While the exhale continues, the smooth, rich flavors seen in the inhale. Amazingly keeping the palate in line with the Korean bread ball treat.
The Smoking Experience
Undoubtedly, I absolutely enjoy the smoking experience of these flowers. I find the smoke really smooth with one of the most unique flavor profiles I have seen in all of 2021. The flavors feel very rich yet soft and not too overpowering.
The High
The high is my happy place. A perfect headspace complemented with a good body high. Perfect for walks on the beach, yoga, and bike rides. From a medicinal perspective, it would be suitable for treating stress and anxiety.
So was Black Matcha Mochi worth the money, and would I repurchase it?
Yes, and yes. These are the most unique flowers I have sampled all year. With such a clean high, and enjoyable smoking experience, without a doubt, I will be smoking this all day for the rest of the year.
