It pains me so greatly to see the Bay Area burning from both sides. It is inconceivable to think about losing everything in just a couple of minutes. If you have the ability to help please do so by donating to any the following: The American Red Cross, California Fire Foundation, California Wildfires Recovery Fund, Community Foundation Santa Cruz, GlobalGiving – California Wildfire, and The Salvation Army.
This blog has no advertising and I have never asked anything of my visitors. You are reading my diary and sometimes my soapbox. Donating to one the above would be a great way to support this site. Thanks.
As of writing this the CZU Lightning Complex Fire has burned 67,000 acres and is only 5% contained. The fire is so large it impacts two different counties, San Mateo and Santa Cruz.
Historically the Santa Cruz Mountains have always been home to some of the best cannabis up there with Humbolt, Oakland, San Francisco, and Berkeley. From old hippies to dreadlock ravers I have bought weed from them all in the Santa Cruz Mountains.
As cannabis legalized many farms set up shop legally in them their hills, such as Lemon Tree, Fog City Farms, Utopia Cannabis, and Clout King a little further south.
The Chiquita Bananas flowers I will be reviewing today were grown in the Santa Cruz Mountains by Utopia Cannabis. Utopia Cannabis wanted me to send out a special thanks to all the Fire Fighters and First Responders putting their lives on the line. 🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾🙏🏾
Utopia is a Santa Cruz based Cannabis Company that debuted its Chiquita Banana Strain in 2014. The strain has been know to test as high as 35% THC. Today they produce flowers, concentrates, edibles, and more. I have tried Utopia a couple of times in the past but have never reviewed them before on this blog.
Utopia took OrgnKid’s Banana Strain and crossed it with OG Kush to get the Epic Chiquita Banana.
The buds are a light green hue with dark green leaves and orange hairs scattered about. Trichrome crystals and tiny white hairs encase the colas.
The aroma of Chiquita Banana by Utopia Cannabis has many of the same characteristics as that of a ripe banana. There is a ripe sweet musky funk orgy of nutmeg, cinnamon, and spice notes.
The flavor profile of the inhale is spot on with the name. Bananas through and through. I would describe it as a very pleasant sweet musky earthy fruit-forward spectrum of flavors complemented by delicate floral notes.
The exhale took a turn being dominated by mostly musky floral notes. The expansion was fierce starting strong in the inhale and continued throughout the exhale. With all that being the case, I would’ve liked to see the flowers burn a little cleaner.
Now with all that expansion, came a quick head high that melted your brain in what felt like waves as each second passed. The head high slowly over time passes over your entire body leading to a calm, peaceful, relaxed state perfect for PTSD, anxiety, or cold chillin.
So was it worth the money and would I buy it again? Yes I found the Utopia’s Chiquita Banana worth the money and something I would buy again. It is definitely a top-shelf experience worth trying especially if you are a fan of bananas.
Where can it be found? I purchased my Chiquita Banana flowers down in Southern California at LA Kush on Valley. But you can find these flowers all over California.
