French Alps by CBX
Next up for review is the in-house indica cultivar French Alps by CBX. It should be noted, I have reviewed CBX strains on this blog and had a good experience with them.
Genetics
French Alps is the cross of the Cannabiotix in-house strain Kush Mountains and Paris OG. Drilling down even deeper, Kush Mountains is the cross of White Walker OG and Blue Flame OG. I love seeing this when a cultivator takes a proprietary cultivar and creates something new.
Appearance
The colas of this strain are bright green with an enormous amount of resinous trichome crystals and long stringy orange hairs. Furthermore, looking closer at the buds, you can find dark greens and deep purples here and there under the crystals.
Aroma
The aroma is a unique blend of bright shiny, pristine pine notes with subtle gas notes and delicate candy notes. The nose is an evolved OG. Both the aroma and appearance indicate a very dominant indica.
The Inhale & The Exhale
The inhale consists of a smooth, expansive palate with somewhat muted earthy pine, gas, and delicate vanilla notes. Moreover, the expansion continues throughout the exhale, with the flavor profile being relatively flat earthy herbal notes.
The Smoking Experience
While I might use words like muted and flat in describing the flavor profile, it is quite an impressive smoking experience with a top-shelf indica. The smooth yet expansive smoke is very impressive. Also, while the flavor is slightly muted, it is still excellent, not to mention the high.
The High
The indica characteristics of this strain do not lie. Unquestionably, the cultivar French Alps does a great job delivering on a very heavy stoney indica high. The sedative flowers are ideal for nighttime smoke, relaxing after a long day, or finding peace of mind and tranquility.
So was French Alps worth the money, and would I repurchase it?
Yes, and yes. This strain is a perfect sample of a close-to-pure indica; everyone should have one in their stash: Well-grown, clean smoking, unique flavor, heavy high, top-shelf flowers. Not only high quality but also reasonably priced.
Where can you find French Alps by CBX?
I got this jar of French Alps from the Catalyst in DTLB, where I consistently have a good experience. They carry a lot of brands I like Super Dope and Teds Buds. Also, they carry fresher flowers.
