Stoner Story
As a young person, I remember how little perspective I had of the future and the people around me. People that I thought would be in my life forever are not, and that is OK. People grow and change. Nonetheless, those people had a significant influence on the person I became. One of those people is a guy named Raff.
When I knew him, Raff was a carefree, fun-loving, booze guzzling, pot-smoking, mischief-making, boundary-pushing tempter of fate. We smoked weed for the first time together, did acid and peyote for the first time together, explored the indy punk scene and then the early days of the rave culture together, stole our first car together, and so much more. He taught me to take risks and that life is best lived while embracing your free spirit.
I could go on for days telling Raff stories and confessing to crimes, but instead, I brought him up to tell you about one of the craziest house parties I have ever been to. You don’t have to take my word for it; look at the Flyer below. As you can see, this was a time before the internets and social media, when people would make flyers and pass them out.
The party was wild. There were three punk bands, a few kegs, girls in the backroom getting it on, and the party ended with us throwing all the furniture in the pool. Oh, and keep in mind we were thirteen years old. Maybe you can understand why Raff had an impact on the person I became.
Background
So when I saw the new Jokes Up strain Houze Party, all my favorite house party memories came back to me, and I had to try it. Houze Party, I believe, is a new strain. The California strain has a New York-based team that spreads across all five boroughs. When I got a chance to speak to one of the HouzePartyGvng, they mentioned that the original Houze Party strain was the first of many Houze Party strain lines to drop. I believe there is already a Yellow Houze Party and a Black Houze Party line.
Genetics
The genetics of Houze Party is a mystery, but I found them very similar to Scottie Pippen #33 by The Backpack Boyz, yet also very different. When you smoke the Backpack Boyz strain, it’s like Scottie Pippen rubbed your belly or hugged you. When you smoke the Jokes Up strain Houze Party, it’s like Scottie Pippen is kicking you in the balls. Houze Party has all the same flavors as #33 but hits you ten times as hard.
Appearance
The Houze Party buds have a gelato like appearance. The buds are a mix of purple and green hues complemented by a significant amount of long oranges hairs. The resinous trichome crystals are vast and immense, visible to the naked eye. The buds in my bag were on the larger side for the most part.
Aroma of Houze Party
Jokes Up’s Houze Party’s aroma is a combination of musky lemon and cherry funk complemented by lite creamy and earthy notes. I am so excited to see so many crosses of what I believe to be lemon cherry gelato on the market these days. This flower smells like 2021, and it smells damn good.
The Inhale and The Exhale
The inhale and exhale do a great job of translating the nose of Houze Party to a very similar flavor profile. The inhale beings with musky lemon funk notes with evolving delicate creamy notes. The exhale takes a smooth, earthy cherry turn with the flavor palate as a whole, contributing to the lingering notes.
The Smoking Experience
I found the smoking experience of Houze Party to be very enjoyable. The complex flavor-filled flavor profile combined with the relaxing heavy sedated high makes for quite the experience. I also enjoyed the smooth exhale with quite considerable expansion on the inhale.
The High
Like I mentioned above in my description of the genetics, smoking Houze Party by Jokes Up is like getting kicked in the nuts by Scottie Pippen. If you plan on smoking it, don’t make plans for later in the day, because you ain’t doing shit. These flowers will demolish the heaviest weight veteran smoker. The strain Houze Party by Jokes Up is perfect for insomnia and pain relief. So much so that it is my new go-to for insomnia.
So was Houze Party worth the money and would I buy it again?
Yes and yes. It was like Scottie Pippen #33 on Steriods. So good. If you are looking for a well-rounded, fantastic tasting terp profile and incredibly potent flowers, this is the strain for you. I would not recommend Houze Party by Jokes Up to novice smokers as this strain is No Joke.

Houze Party by Jokes Up, the California strain, can be found in all five Boroughs of New York. If you are in California or Floria, I would keep an eye out for pop-ups. The Runtz Bowl is coming up, and you can probably get it there. If you are not in California, New York, or Florida, it might be a great time to take a trip to Florida and get out of the snow.
