On a recent trip to San Francisco I found myself in the Mission District. The mission district has long been a home to good weed and a lot of different dispensaries.
Going up and down mission street you will find Dr Greenthumb, Stiiizy, Connected, Barbary Coast and many many more. Mission was also home to Berners first club and legendary crews like the Gooniez and Deep Freeze Treehouse.
So as I made my way up and down Mission going to as many dispensaries as I could, I eventually found myself at Stiiizy. It was my first time going to Stiiizy and seeing their flowers in person.
The pot clubs on Mission are not what they use to be. Historically going back about 10 years the dispensaries were old, dirty, not well lit, with dirty old furniture and usually really loud distorted music playing on an old worn out sound system.
Stiiizy was the opposite. A very new, sleek, clean, well lit establishment that looked like a very safe place to buy medicine or recreational weed. There was a short line out front due to the pandemic as there were not allowed too let to many folks in at the same time. The line didn’t take too long and before I knew it I was up to bat.
The bud tender that helped my was a young, very well informed, experienced and educated cannabis enthusiast. We were able to connect quickly after discussing just a couple strains and spot the connoisseur in each other. She did a good job of taking me on a tour of Stiiizy’s offerings, both their in house strains and their third party offerings.
I was impressed with the THC potency of the in house flower offerings at Stiiizy as well as the competitive prices. I was also delighted to see a top shelf 3rd party offering with a lot of my favorite cannabis lines but I did find the 3rd party strains to be priced a little high, a common theme in some cities right now (Sorry SF).
In the end I picked up a couple of Stiiizy Strains which you will see reviewed here on the blog. The first Stiiizy review up is Stiiizy’s Sour Apple.
The flowers crossed to create Sour Apple hybrid are Sour Diesel and Cinderella 99. Mr. Soul of Brothers Grim bred the Sativa dominant Cinderella 99 with Amsterdam Jack Herer seed roots. Where the common consensus of Sour Diesel’s genetics are Chemdog 91 and Super Skunk.
The buds are a very light bright green with short orange hairs and a nice layer of trichrome crystal coverage.
The nose is a sour herbal earthy aroma with a light sweet musk. With all those scents marrying you can get a real green granny sliced apple aroma.
The inhale begins with a very pleasant forward sour apple not long before it is complemented by some light earthy herbal notes.
The exhale takes a sweeter turn maintaining the unique apple notes adding some delicate citrus notes, as the dominant apple notes linger.
I saw very limited expansion when taking bong hits of Stiiizy’s Sour Apple.
The high is a lighter, dreamy, euphoric, and uplifting one. Good for daytime use or daydreaming. Also I would consider the high to be good for pain relief.
So was it worth the money and would I buy it again? Yes if you are a fan of Apples or Sour Diesel, Stiiizy makes it too well priced for you to pass up.
You can buy Stiiizy flowers all over California. They are $40 an eighth direct from Stiiizy on Mission St while places like LA Kush down south have them for $45 an eighth and even cheaper if you buy a quarter.
