The SS-1 Strain
Next up for review is the SS-1 strain by HI TECH. HI TECH is one of the larger Los Angeles-based cultivators growing cannabis the right way with a 14 day flush and slow. They are taking their time to make sure they are doing cannabis right.
I recently reviewed the Super Dope strain by Cherry Popperz. HI TECH powers that strain.
Genetics
Both the SS-1 and SS-2 are proprietary strains to HI TECH. One of the owners and head cultivators popped both seeds quite a while back. The SS-1 is Sunset Sherbert crossed with Gelato 41.
Appearance
The flowering tops are a mix of deep purples and dark green hues. The colas are also covered in long stringy orange hairs, and tiny white perfectly formed resinous trichome crystals.
Aroma
One can find the nose of this strain slightly subdued at first sniff. However, the fragrant aroma will fill up the room after the flowers are ground up. I would describe the scent as a memorizing mix of sweet musky candy berry notes.
The Inhale & The Exhale
The inhale consists of delicious flavor-filled musky candy notes. In contrast, the exhale goes in a more earthy berry direction complemented by more delicate candy notes and lingering musk notes.
The Smoking Experience
I have really been enjoying digging into the SS-1. The musky candy notes resonate so well with me. The flavor-filled flowers burn so smooth to a clean white ash.
The High
This head and body high is a bit heavier and exactly what I enjoy with an all-day, everyday strain. I would say this strain is perfect for unwinding after a long week, great for pain relief, and coping with stress.
So was it worth the money, and would I repurchase SS-1 by HI TECH?
Yes, and yes. I have been profoundly enjoying both the musky flavor and heavy high. This well-kept secret is straight fire. Shhh don’t tell any one.
Where can you find SS-1 by HI TECH?
HI TECH flowers are distributed by Teds Budz, making them pretty easy to find at both big box and boutique retailers all over California. I have had a lot of luck finding them everywhere from Emberz to Cookies and everything inbetween.
