Dyno Bytes
I recently met up with the young entrepreneurial team behind the new strain Dyno Bytes from the ever-growing Joke Ups Crew. With only being around for a little less than a year, Dyno Bytes has a large footprint. Dyno Bytes can be found in California, Florida, New York, and beyond. Today I will be reviewing the Black Dyno Bytes.
Dyno Bytes is a variety of strains all falling under the Dyno Bytes branding. They release different strains as different Dyno Bytes colors. So far, they have dropped Blue, Red, White, and Black Dyno Bytes. Diving even deeper into the branding, we can see an homage to the Nintendo version of the 80s Arcade Classic Bubble Bobble. They have even re-imagined the story found on the Nintendo packaging.
Genetics of Black Dyno Bytes
All of the different Dyno Bytes releases have had unknown proprietary genetics. I was told they are not using Compound Genetics, but the quality is up there and competes entirely. As I examine the colas, many characteristics hint at a Runtz Lineage with an elaborate cross that takes the flowers in a much different direction.
Appearance
The Black Dyno Bytes are, for the most part, deep purple and green hues with light green highlights scattered about. A healthy layer of resinous trichomes and orange hairs push this strain over the top.
Aroma
The scent of Black Dyno Bytes is very familiar and reminds me of the nose of White Runtz but more complicated. I would describe the aroma as a balance of musky sourdough and sharp floral earth notes with delicate spice notes dancing in the background.
The Inhale and The Exhale
During the inhale, we see a departure from the familiarities of White Runtz. Instead, I found the flavor profile of the inhale to have sweet sourdough notes. In contrast, the exhale was dominated by floral, earthy, and pepper notes, which I consider to be the foundation of the flavor notes found in Runtz.
The Smoking Experience
I enjoyed the smoking experience of this new Jokes Up strain. There was lots of expansion, and the these flowers burned to a clean white. #whiteashgvng
The High
I found the Black Dyno Bytes stone to be an excellent, uplifting, stoney, head high complemented perfectly with the relaxed body high it provides. The Dyno Bytes flowers are perfect for lifting your spirits, hanging with friends, or getting ready for the weekend. From a medical marijuana perspective, Black Dyno Bytes, are suitable for appetite stimulation, fighting depression and pain relief.
So was Black Dyno Bytes worth the money and would I buy it again?
Yes, and yes. I have been impressed with all of the new Jokes Up drops. This strain has definitely earned their spot on the top shelf repping that Jokes Up logo. I like their color-based strain themes and really want to try that White Dyno Bytes.

You can find the Jokes Up strain Dyno Bytes on both coasts, but I don’t believe it has yet made its way into dispensaries.
