Biscookie by Crown Caps, an Exotic California Cannabis Strain Review

Stoner Story

As I have said before on this blog, I have been to a lot of dispensaries. I guess it is my happy place. My own private endless summer searching for the perfect strain grown by the perfect grower.

The result of this constant drive, quest, and search has me looking at menus a lot and analyzing many dispensaries.

One technique I like to use to evaluate a dispensary quickly is to pick a common item you frequently buy at a competitive price and see the product’s current price at the dispensary in question.

On one of my internet searches, I came across a member-only club with an entrance fee based on the amount of product you plan on purchasing. I found their prices to be very competitive, and there were no taxes.

The entry fee is priced in a way that encourages you to buy in bulk taking advantage of what appeared to be a wholesale price. So it only made sense for me to buy one of everything.

Background

One of the items I purchased was an Eighth of Biscookie Flowers from a brand I have never seen nor tried before called Crown Caps. The couple of girls behind the counter who helped me out were impressed with my selection and commented that I would be pleased with Biscookie by Crown Caps….

I know very little about Crown Caps. They have a small following on a private Instagram account, and I have requested to follow them. I am also finding minimal reviews online, but many complimentary describing Crown Caps’ Flowers as the best out right now.

Crown Caps have many other strains besides Biscookie that I would like to try, such as Candy Runtz, French Cookies, Purple Pound Cake, Munchies #7, and Munchies #9.

Genetics

The genetics of Biscookie by Crown Caps is the cross of GSC and Biscotti. Which I must say is quite the wonder twins superfriends supergroup. These are two strains that are very similar and complement each other so well.

First, it worth noting that GSC is part of the Biscotti cross, so it makes sense for them to be similar. Biscotti is the cross of GSC, Gelato #25, and South Florida OG. In contrast, GSC is the cross of OG Kush and Durban Poison.

Appearance

The buds are light green hue with purple leaves and orange hairs scattered about here and there. Still, I found it challenging to see the green and purple hues underneath the layer of tiny white hairs and perfectly formed resinous trichome crystals that give the colas a white like appearance.

Aroma

The aroma was indeed something I enjoyed. I found the scent to be a pleasant mix of minty earthy herbal notes complemented by delicate sweet cookie dough notes. I found it reminiscent of an old favorite strain I have not seen in a while.

The Inhale

At first taste, I immediately fell in love with the flavor profile of Biscookie. I found a sharp, pleasant, perfect mix of gassy herbal goodness and sweet cookie dough notes fused perfectly into one.

I found the flavors to be a very familiar yet very different experience. I spent a good four years smoking real deal GSC, and for the past few years have not seen too many folks recreate the original. Now don’t get me wrong people have helped the strain evolve and made it better through different crosses. Nevertheless, there was something distinct and sublime about the original.

It’s like going back to the city you grew up in. It feels like you never left. The air hangs just the same way, and the suns feel just like it did when growing up. However, change is constant, and as you look around, it is all around you. The places and strains you loved as a young person are no longer there, and instead, adapting to change is the path of least resistance.

Man, that was heavy. I guess what I am trying to say is Crown Caps did such an excellent job with Biscookies; they got me to reminisce that hard for the Original GSC. Now I think you can make a case Mints is the new GSC, yet I am finding it to be not the same so far.

The Exhale

When smoking these flowers for a review, I dig sommelier level deep looking for flavor profiles. It is very rare for me to find an exhale very similar to the inhale, however with Biscookie by Crown Caps, I found just that.

The exhale maintained a balance of gassy herbal goodness and sweet cookie dough notes. If anything, the herbal notes took more of a back seat, allowing for the sweet cookie dough notes to become more forward.

The Smoking Experience

It has been a good minute since I have found a standout cookie strain that paid homage to a good cut of the original. I believe Biscookie by Crown Caps to be just that. The sweet cookie dough flavor and clean high brought me back to the golden era of GSC.

I was also delighted to see that the flowers burned to a clean white ash. #whiteashgang Both the flavor profile and clean-burning flowers lead to a fabulous smoking experience anyone would enjoy.

So was it worth the money and would I buy it again?

Yes and Yes. I think this is what my journey is all about. Going out and finding a grower I have never heard of before and being completely blown away by the quality and the end product. I can’t say enough good things about Biscotti by Crown Caps. I am eager to try other strains by them.

Where can it be found?

Crown Caps strains can be found at dispensaries all over California. I found Biscookie by Crown Caps at a club in Los Angeles.
