For kids who grew up eating peanut butter and jelly sandwiches there is something very nostalgic about weed strains that pay an homage to them.
I would like begin by stating my bias, I grew up eating Peanut Butter and Jelly Sandwiches.
Butter and Jelly by Deep Freeze and Gooniez is a strain I have been trying to get my hands on for some time. I was able to find it at Cookies Melrose.
The strain’s street name was originally peanut butter and jelly but once they went complainant they had to change the name for legal purposes to butter and jelly.
The genetics are mystery and a proprietary strain by Deep Freeze and the Gooniez from what I can tell.
There is a very distinctive nose on the butter and jelly.
You are greeted with a lot of characteristics of peanut butter breath, earthy herbal nuttiness complemented nicely by sweet strawberry notes from a mystery cross I cannot put my finger on.
The scent alone allows for you to take in the butter and jelly experience as it is so spot on, smelling like peanut butter and strawberry jam.
Shit gets real once you start smoking it though….
Both the inhale and exhale was dominated by the peanut butter breath tasting very nutty and earthy complemented by light notes of sweet berry from the mystery cross.
While being very potent coming in at 25% THC, the high is very uplifting, happy and incredibly clean perfect for being productive, going on walks or hanging out with friends.
Also worth noting, not only is the high clean but the flowers burn to a nice clean white ash indicating a pro flush and pro cure job.
So was it worth the money and would I buy it again? As an eccentric connoisseur I love to smoke that exclusive elusive exotic. This is just that. Yes and Yes.
