As a lifelong stoner I have had the munchies a lot. And as a result I have eaten a lot of candy.
I think it is genius to market weed as rebranded familiar candy flavors to bunch of people who eat a ton of candy as long as you stay true to the original candy flavor.
With all this said I could also see why this would encourage young people to want to try it but I am not here to get philosophical. I am here to find the best cannabis in the world.
Which has lead me to my next Cannabis Grower, Ember Valley. While on a LA Farmers run I picked up some of Ember Valley’s Now and Laters.
They had me at the name. I had to test it. Did it really smell and taste like now and laters?
But first lets look at the genetics. Now and Laters is Candyland crossed with Blue Power. Candyland is GDP x Cookies. While Blue Power is the super group of old school strains, Blueberry x White Widow x Skunk#1.
Somehow through all this crazy crossing this Flower stays Sativa Dominant.
Now for the smell test…you can really get a hint of all its ancestors in the scent of the flowers. There is a dominant sweetness with light notes of fruitiness coming from the GDP, Cookies and Blue Berry with the Skunk and White Widow rounding out the profile adding some citrusy skunkyness.
The inhale has a flatter flavor profile with notes of herbal earthiness complemented with notes of pepper and light notes of citrus.
The exhale takes a fruity turn where the GDP and Blueberry tend to be more dominant in the flavor profile.
The Sativa high of Now and Later’s is very enjoyable as it has a great body high combined with a happy head high that doesn’t diminish your motivation.
Was it worth the money and would I buy it again? This was the first time I reviewed Ember Valley Flowers and this batch of Now and Laters is top shelf tried and true. Also I got it for a very reasonable price. So yes and yes.
So….Does it smell like now and laters candy? Yes the nose of the flowers smells like an assortment of now and later candy flavors.
