Sour Best Shit Ever OG by So Dank Exotics
This is a very special strain of limited batch living-soil grown flowers with some very unique genetics. I am very lucky to be able to get my hands on these flowers and share my experience with all of you.
Genetics of Sour Best Shit Ever OG by So Dank Exotics
The genetics are Sour Best Shit Ever crossed with OG Kush. Sour Best Shit Ever is a strain that’s about 15 years old, the cross of 78 Old School LA Affie and the Sage strain. Diving deeper, Sage is the cross of Big Sur Holy and Afghani, while 78 Old School LA Affie is the cross of Lemon Thai, Colombian Gold and Pakistani Landrace.
Appearance
What is most impressive about these flowers is the abundance of glistening trichrome crystals, yet they were grown in living soil with no chemicals or nutrients. People with growing nutrients struggle to get their flower to look this good.
I would describe the appearance of these colas as bright green, covered in long, stringy orange hairs, immersed in perfectly formed trichome crystals.
The Aroma
Now it could be somewhat easy to write these flowers off as an excellent OG Kush but they are so much more when you look into the lineage of the genetics and see it come through in the appearance, nose and flavor profile.
I would describe the aroma as an evolved OG Kush made up of a complex mix of gassy and pine notes complemented by delicate herbal woody notes. Garlic and onion notes make an appearance once you grind up the flowers.
The Inhale
The inhale is complex and took me a bit to deconstruct. There are burnt wood notes and pungent gas notes that marry together creating almost an eraser shaving like flavor, yet at times comes across creamy and always smooth.
The Exhale
Usually I find the inhale of a strain to be more flavorful and enjoyable, however the exhale of these flowers is very unique. I would describe the exhale as a flavor palette of expansive waves of pine notes complemented by delicate gas notes.
The Smoking Experience
This is quite the smoking experience. A complex flavor profile, which is dramatically different on the inhale and exhale. A very smooth, clean smoke — one of the cleanest. An expansive exhale bursting with flavor yet staying impeccably smooth.
The High
The high is also incredibly clean, very functional and yet also packs a punch. Living soil flower is very different than flowers grown in cotton wool or coco. The smoker unknowingly is often smoking the nutrients not properly flushed, leading to a more intense chemically-induced high which also can impact flavor.
So was Sour Best Shit Ever OG by So Dank Exotics worth the money and would I buy it again?
Yes and Yes. Wow, this is some really nice flower. Probably some of the best living soil OG Kush I have smoked, up there with Elephants Growth OG and Joshwax. Organic and veganic flowers grown in living soil might be a little pricey but totally worth every dollar.
