The SS-2 Strain
The next stop on the Toure de HI TECH is SS-2. I have heard this is an extraordinary strain and one that the founder has smoked for two years straight, perfecting.
Genetics
This strain is proprietary to HI TECH and is the supergroup cross of the Sunset Sherbert, Zkittles, and Gelato 41.
Appearance
The flowering tops are a mix of light green and deep purple hues. The flowers as a whole give off a whitish hue due to the white resinous trichome crystals. There are also stringy long orange hairs scattered about the flowers.
Aroma
The nose of this strain is a pronounced mix of tropical and sweet cherry notes topped with delicate candy notes.
The Inhale & The Exhale
On the inhale of this strain, you see more of the Sherbert with tropical funky, fruity notes, leaning towards sweet cherries and citrus lemons. In contrast, the exhale has a sweet candy profile.
The Smoking Experience
The SS-2 is a smooth, clean, burning smoking experience like all HI TECH strains. The tropical funky, fruity flavor and nose got me.
The High
I hear from many people how much they enjoy the super clean high of SS-2. I would describe the high as a very clean, functional high that relaxes the body with a good head change. A perfect active high ideal for working out, house cleaning, or heading into for a day of work.
So was SS-2 worth the money, and would I repurchase it?
Yes, and yes. The exotic tropical flowers stand out as a top contender. The time invested by the head cultivator was well spent, and you can see it clearly in these flowers.
Where can you find SS-2 by HI TECH?
You can find HI TECH’s SS-2 at most dispensaries around California. HI TECH also has a very large footprint in states you would not expect, like New York. Joe Budonz was recently talking about it on his radio show.
