Tiramisu by The Rare
Today I will be reviewing the strain that pays homage to the dessert, Tiramisu by The Rare. The Rare is a Los Angeles based group of Cannabis Connoisseurs with the ultimate goal of providing quality cannabis to the California recreational market. They have over 20 years of combined experience in the cannabis industry.
The Rare take a lot of pride in the flowers they cultivate. They have a focus on a truly clean green quality product while providing their customers with the best smoking experience.Â
Genetics of Tiramisu by The Rare
The Rare’s Tiramisu is a proprietary in house cross. The Rare’s Tiramisu is the cross of Wedding Cake and another strain they are keeping secret. They have teased that they will eventually release the identity of the other strain in the cross but have not yet, to my knowledge. A couple of other Tiramisus are on the market with different genetics, but The Rare had me at Wedding Cake.
Appearance
The appearance of the Tiramisu’s flowering tops is very similar to that of its parent, wedding cake. The colas are a whitish hue due to all the trichomes, orange hairs, and light green leaves. The long orange hairs are evenly spaced out, and here and there, you can find leaves of a darker green hue.
Aroma
The Rare’s Tiramisu aroma is a balanced mix of sharp floral, earthy notes and rich cream notes complemented by even more delicate spice and sour gas notes. I found the nose to be very inviting, encouraging me to dig into the buds and start smoking.
The Inhale and The Exhale
The inhale has a delightful creamy floral flavor profile complemented by delicate earthy notes. In contrast, the exhale takes an unexpected turn with an expanding gassiness mixed in with some earthy notes, finally ending with lingering coffee notes.
The Smoking Experience
The unique flavor-filled flavor profile already leads to a great smoking experience. However, it is worth noting that I found the smooth, cool refreshing smoke combined with the flavor profile only added to the entire experience.
The High
I would describe the high of The Rare’s Tiramisu as a strong, stoney head high. As I began to think about explaining the high after describing the flavor profile, I had an epiphany that the mystery cross might be jet fuel. I have been smoking a lot of Jet Fuel lately as it is one of my favorite strains, as is Wedding Cake. With the complex sweet, creamy flavor profile mixed with notes of gas and a surprise ending, the math works.
So was Tiramisu by The Rare worth the money and would I buy it again?
Yes and Yes. This review was my first time trying a strain by Los Angeles’ The Rare, and I was very impressed. When you look toward the flower’s quality, how clean the flowers burn, and the fantastic unique flavor profile, it is obvious the cultivators are experienced and take pride in their work.
Where can you find Tiramisu by The Rare?
The Rare has three different strains out right now. Dulce, Azul, and Tiramisu. Right now, they appear to be more SoCal centric. Today, you can purchase The Rare’s offerings at Dr. Greenthumb’s Sylmar, Roots Dispensary, Daddy’s Dispensary, Cana Harbor, and Cookies Locations.
