Guava Plus
Next up for review is Guava Plus by Dubz Garden and La Coz. I tried this a long time ago when it came in jars, and in retrospect was some of the best fire for a minute. I also heard this batch is even better, so let’s get into this.
Guava Plus Genetics
I used to think the Plus in the name was an indicator of a back cross, but instead, I believe it may be part of the Dubz branding. This realization leads me to believe this strain is part of the Guava Gelato pheno.
Appearance
The flowers are bursting with white, purple, and orange hues complemented by dark green highlights. The colas in my bag are covered in orange hairs and crystals, making the bright white and orange hues are the most dominant.
Aroma
Very similar to the original batch, I am finding the complex aroma to be a mix of creamy, sweet, musky, citrus, and tropical notes complemented by delicate gas notes. Nose heaven.
The Inhale & The Exhale
The inhale is a dreamy mix of musky, earthy tropical pineapple notes complemented by delicate gas notes. In contrast, the exhale goes in a different direction introducing sweet, creamy, earthy notes.
The Smoking Experience
I am big on cultivators taking their time to flush and cure their flowers. This can cost the cultivator money as it is preventing them from growing the next batch. But, I believe it leads to a consistent, clean burn and a great smoking experience worth sacrifice. Dubz Garden has been cultivating in this way for many years and I have never been disappointed with his flowers.
The High
The high of these flowers are slightly more of a head high than a body high, nonetheless don’t get me wrong. There is a lot of body in the flowers leading me to say the head high is very strong. I would recommend the flowers for mediating in the morning, reading books, and walking on the beach.
So is Guava Plus worth the money, and would I repurchase it?
Yes and Yes. The new version is evolved but in good ways. You lose some of the cherry notes in the inhale but are replaced by tropical pineapple notes. I also feel like the new batch has a more potent high.
