On a recent trip to LA Kush out on Valley Blvd, I picked up a brand I never tried before. JUUG.
The strain I picked up was Wedding Cookies. At first glance I believed this to be a Wedding Cake GSC Cross. This is where the debate begins…
Wedding Cake’s genetics are often debated, granted this is Wedding Cookies but bear with me. Some say Wedding Cakes Genetics is Triangle Kush crossed with Thin Mints, other say it is Triangle Kush crossed with Animal Mints while even other say it is Cherry Pie crossed with GSC.
When looking at the end result of the crosses you end up with two very different strains. Either a very sweet vanilla butter cream toasted almond strain or a strain that is a sour and spicy earthy flower with lite notes of sweetness.
I believe Wedding Cookies to be the more appropriately named cross of Cherry Pie with GSC.
Let’s break down the genetics even further. Cherry Pie is Durban Poison crossed with GDP while GSC is OG Kush crossed with Durban Poison. That is quite the old school all star strain line up and it shows in the flowers.
The nose is complex taking on earthy notes from the OG Kush lineage and deep sour notes with lite notes of black licorice coming from the Durban Poison Lineage.
The inhale is earthy and sweet as you begin to see the presence of the Girl Scout Cookies complemented by delicate notes of black licorice.
The exhale takes a pungent sour spicy turn continued to be complemented by lite sweet black licorice notes I believe from the Durban Poison.
The high is heavy and where you begin to the see the GDP presence. This high will have you struggling to complete what you had planned for the day, so I would recommend smoking it at night.
I found Wedding Cookes to be great for relaxing, stimulating appetite and fighting insomnia.
So was it worth the money and would I buy it again? Yes it packs a punch and is very reasonably priced at La Kush.
Also worth noting there is an actual very popular desert known as mexican wedding cookies also known as italian wedding cookies or russian tea cakes having never tried this desert I cannot tell you if it bears any resemblance to the taste of the flowers.
