Guava Plus
As I continue my reviews of 2021, I wanted to dig deeper into other strains of the Cannabis Companies that won Zazas to see how they stand up. Dubz Garden and the Gooniez were awarded a Zaza for their strain Oreoz. Dubz Garden has since teamed up with La Coz to release several strains that became very popular out the gate. Some strains include Super Nova, Gelato Plus, Triple Chocolate Chip #9, Mona Lisa, and Guava Plus, the strain I am reviewing today.

Genetics of Guava Plus
I believe Guava Plus by La Coz and Dubz Garden is the backcross of the Guava strain, but I could be wrong. When Jungle Boys were good, they used to have a Guava strain that smelled and tasted identical to a guava, so much, so it was almost offputting. Dubz Gardens and La Coz took this Guava in a much different direction ending in a more well-rounded aroma and flavor profile.
Appearance
However, before I get into the aroma, let me first describe the appearance. For the most part, the flowering tops are a light green hue, with a gorgeous layer of resinous trichome crystal with short orange hairs scattered about. The buds were on the larger side of things, without being fluffy or too dense.
Aroma
Based on my previous Guava experiences, I really expected that Sativa Dominant familiar Guava. However, I was happy to find a complex gelato influenced nose. The complex aroma was a mix of creamy, sweet, musky, citrus, and tropical notes complemented by delicate gas notes. The complex, delightful scent has me second-guessing what I assumed the genetics to be.
The Inhale and The Exhale
The inhale begins with smooth, crisp, complex, earthy, and cherry notes that marry together perfectly. The exhale takes a gassy, musky, tropical turn complemented by some excellent expansion. I found myself enjoying the gassy, musky notes that linger.
The Smoking Experience
When living in the Bay Area, there was a time when it was effortless to buy only clean green certified flowers. A level of certification that was given to an organization cultivating, flushing, and curing buds the right way. I don’t believe it is still a thing. However, Dubz Gardens and La Coz cultivated Guava Plus with such care it reminded of the certification. The flowering tops burns to a clean white ash, is incredibly smooth, yet has a significant amount of expansion and the most incredible flavor profile.
The High
Right in line with the very clean burning flowers is the very clean clearheaded high allowing you to remain coherent while finding the perfect headspace complemented by an intense body high. I found this high particularly good for eating tacos, sexy time, and chilling at the aquarium. This strain would complement magic mushroomz very well also. I think it would be excellent for anxiety, depression, and pain relief from a medicinal perspective.
So was Guava Plus worth the money and would I buy Guava Plus again?
Yes and Yes. Guava Plus is was my favorite strain so far by Dubz Gardens and La Coz, and keep in mind I gave Dubz Gardens’ last strain an award. The fantastic flavor profile and clean burn make it a must-try. Guava Plus’s quality only makes me want to try the strains Gelato Plus and Mona Lisa even more.
Where can Guava Plus be found?
Guava Plus by Dubz Garden and La Coz can be found at dispensaries all over California. I got mine from Cookies Hollywood for $60. It is easier to find in NorCal than SoCal, but it is also more expensive in NorCal than in SoCal. While I am on the topic, did you know it is the dispensary that sets the price, not the vendor? This is why you can see such a variance in price from one dispensary to the next for the same strain. This is also why it makes sense to look at a couple of menus before you go out to buy something.
Lastly, I want to shout out someone often forgotten and overlooked. Tedz Budz Distribution is a big part of making this all happen. Thanks Tedz Budz!
