In a recent post, I discussed the desire to reshoot and re-review some strains that I feel deserved a higher caliber of video and review. If you ever tried Cannatique’s Lemon Cherry Gelato you might just think I was making up this excuse to smoke more of it.
Not to mention… I named Lemon Cherry Gelato by Cannatique my Favorite strain of 2019. I have linked my “Best Of 2019” posts below.
Cannatique is an Oakland grower that I believe have been around for a long time. I believe back in the day they had their own club or was associated with one that I visited 10-15 years back in Oakland. However I didn’t really start deep diving their product until that last couple years.
Lemon Cherry Gelato is the result of a menage et trois between Sunset Sherbet, Girl Scout Cookies and an Unknown Strain. Taking into account those genetics you would never imagine the unique flavor profile produced.
The buds are a purple hue completely covered in trichrome crystals. There are orange hairs and light greenish leaves found scattered about the buds. Also worth noting the majority of trichromes are perfectly developed and still immaculately intact.
The nose is complex and has a lot going. The many unique scents hit you all at once. Your nose is greeted by a wall of floral, earthy, sweet tart cherry and citrus lemon notes. The fragrances marry together seamlessly as they dance around your nostrils.
One of the reasons this is my favorite strain is the incredibly smooth flavorful inhale. The inhale has very forward sweet tart cherry and citrus lemon notes complemented by delicate floral notes.
The exhales is just as enjoyable, as it takes a musky earthy turn while retaining the sweet tart cherry profile as it lingers long after the exhale.
When grown by Cannatique, Lemon Cherry Gelato is by far one of the smoothest hitting strains out there right now. The flower burns to a clean white ash. #whiteashgang
The high is so clean and completely functional. I would recommend it for relaxing, addressing stress or anxiety and dealing with Mondays. #4mondaysinaroweveryweek #isitoveryet?
So was it worth the money and would I buy it again? Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes. Yes and Yes. My favorite Strain of 2019 and it is easy to see why. Cannatique has set the bar high and helped to set expectations for Best Of 2020 Candidates.
Where can it be found? Cannatique can be found all over California. I got this jar at Up North in Vista. I was very impressed with their selection and very competitive prices. They are definitely worth checking out.
