The Z-Tech Strain
Next up for review is the Z-Tech strain by Hi Tech. This release was part of their experimental series in the white Hi Tech bags. I believe they intend that the most well-received strains of the experimental series will become regular staples in their lineup.
Genetics
I am not sure about the genetics of this strain, but I am confident the Z in Z-Tech represents the Zkittlez lineage. Nonetheless, I don’t believe it is The Original Z, but instead a cross. I am thinking maybe Z and Moonbow cross. Moonbow is the cross of Dosi-Do and Z.
Appearance
The appearance of these flowers is impressive. Z’s are some of the more challenging flowers to grow and rarely look pretty. Nevertheless, Hi Tech was able to cultivate some of the best-looking and smoking Z’s on the market. I would describe the colas as light green with bright orange hairs as you would expect with a Z cutt, however what makes these flowers really unique is deep purple highlights and insane layer of trichome crystals, something you rarely see in Z cutts.
Aroma
I find the Z aroma, in general, to be very unique, complex, and challenging to describe. Through my encounters, I am observing it range from an intricate wasabi, soy sauce, and fresh sushi notes to bright citrus lemon and orange notes.
With these flowers, I find the nose to be a complex mix of bright candy citrus, lemon, and orange notes complemented by delicate gas notes. The dominating candy Z notes are a hypnotizing draw.
The Inhale & The Exhale
I can not get enough of these flowers. The unique flavor is so very different from all the LCG cuts flooding the market right now. Complex candy gas notes dominate the inhale, complemented by delicate citrus orange and vanilla notes. In contrast, the exhale is a mix of gassy herbal notes with lingering deep gas notes.
The Smoking Experience
The flowers deliver nothing but a top-shelf smoking experience. The fresh large colas in my bag are burning to clean white ash filled with flavor and a clean AF high.
The High
The high is an extremely enjoyable, immaculately clean head high complemented by just a little bit of body high. I am finding the stone to be the perfect yin yang of being both uplifting and sedative, making this stone ideal for going longboarding on the beach path at sunset, flying kites on the beach, or getting a tarot reading done.
So was Z-Tech worth the money, and would I repurchase it?
Yes, and Yes. Hands down the most enjoyable Z experience I have had yet, which is comparing it to the Ten Co. lineup I recently reviewed as well as a few Terp Hogz Z cuts.

Hi Tech is distributed by Teds Budz, meaning you can find Z-Tech by Hi Tech at the usual lineup of Cookies, Dr. Greenthumb, and Backpack Boyz. I am also finding Exotix in Hollywood. Dr. Greenthumb SF and Emberz Van Nuys have been doing a good job keeping the Hi Tech and Superdope flowers in stock.
